Nearly 100 beauty professionals affected by the L.A. wildfires were able to resume their livelihoods after picking up Beauty Relief Kits containing essential pro tools and supplies from the Professional Beauty Association.
"What PBA and its partners are doing for the community is a blessing," says hairstylist Jennifer Jackson. "Losing my kit in the fires was so hard because it took me years to build and it was expensive. Now I can go back to work."
In a Feb. 3 event hosted by SOS Beauty in Beverly Hills, PBA distributed more than $100K worth of hair dryers, flat irons, curling irons, shears, clippers, brushes, color supplies, and other professional tools donated by its partners and members.
“You absolutely can’t imagine the pure joy you brought today to so many," hairstylist Maurice Egan told the PBA. "I’ve been through many times in my life where many people were so kind and generous under many different circumstances, but I have never been treated the way you guys treated us."
Those who were unable to get a Beauty Relief Kit will have another opportunity at the Premiere Anaheim event at the Anaheim Convention Center on Feb. 23-24. Tap here to request a kit.
Contributing to the Beauty Relief Kits and the distribution event were the SOS Beauty Group, Michael Shaun Corby, Alter Ego Italy, Amika, Bellami, DePasquale Salon Systems, EVO, Framar, Fromm, GHD, Hattori Hanzo, Helen of Troy, JPMS, Oligo, Robanda, Salon Service Group, Sam Villa, Wahl, and more.
“These kits are a crucial part of our ongoing efforts to assist those affected by this crisis. We are deeply grateful for the unwavering support from our members, partners, and sponsors, whose contributions have made this relief effort possible,” says Leslie Perry, the PBA's Executive Director.
“The beauty industry has always been resilient, and its strength truly shines when we come together to help one another in times of need.”
